April’s London Marathon will be Harriet Johnson’s first and it’ something she’s always wanted to do.

A keen runner from a young age, Harriet (26), a corporate tax adviser from Norwich is busy fitting her marathon training in around her passion for hockey and will be raising money for Papworth Trust’s work with disabled people across East Anglia.

“I've always wanted to run a marathon, I love to run, and have largely always ran as my mum used to take me out running with her when I was little.

“I love how easy it is to take trainers with you wherever you are in the world, and it's always a great way to explore a new place.”

Harriet said she wanted to support Papworth Trust “amazing” work.

“I wanted to help support the amazing work they do, and the invaluable services they provide for people in our community.”

She’s trying to fit in the mileage around hockey training and matches.

“Fitting the longer runs in at the weekend is sometimes impossible with matches, so I often find myself running a lonely, dark and cold long run on a week night after work.

I enjoy a good audio-book to keep me distracted and I'm running my way through the 'Crazy Rich Asian' trilogy, which are really amusing!

“In addition to the long runs, I try and do some sessions to work on pace, as well as slower recovery runs.

Harriet said she is aiming to run the marathon in under four and a half hours, with her half marathon personal best time currently standing at one hour and 52 minutes.
