The chief executive of Papworth Trust has spoken of her excitement after signing up to run the London Marathon in support of the disability charity.

Within a few months of taking the helm at the East of England charity, Sarah Miller had agreed to sign up for the 26.2-mile event.

Having now been at the charity for just over six months, Sarah admitted she was inspired by the work of staff, volunteers, customers and supporters – and will use that inspiration to help her get over the finishing line.

She said: “I have taken part in a number of half-marathons and running the London Marathon was always on the bucket list.

“I have watched previous marathons in awe and just the effort and commitment needed by each runner is something to behold.

“I’m not a competitive runner, but I run most weeks and I have always believed in leading by example. can’t wait to take my place in Team Papworth.”

The charity, which has its head office in Papworth Everard and runs services across Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, has a total of 10 runners in this year’s Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 28th April.
