The role nature has played in our wellbeing

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week and this year’s theme of ‘nature’.  We have spoken to two of our staff about the key role nature has played in supporting their mental health and wellbeing.  Below is are some reflections from Ellie and Sarah, as well as some great pictures they have taken to celebrate nature:

 Ellie, Support Worker (Ipswich)

“Working throughout the pandemic was very stressful and tested many of us.  On my days off, I like to go for bike rides to ease my mind and take in the beautiful sights of   nature. The empty fields and the quiet roads.  The tranquillity calmed my depression and helped my anxiety more than I could ever have imagined. I took photos to keep as a   reminder of the good days – here are some of my favourites…”

Sarah, HR Director

“For me, throughout lockdown and the various restrictions we’ve all been living under, still being able to appreciate the local countryside and wildlife with walking and running has given me a sense of calmness and wellbeing whilst living in such unknown and unpredictable times.”
