Community Connections South

Please note the Community Connections South project ended in 2023, but we keep this page open for information purposes.

Community Connections South is funded by The European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.

The Community Connections South project offers you flexible support that will help you build the skills and confidence you need to make that step into work.

Papworth Trust’s Community Connections South brings together experienced partners that focus on changing lives and communities for the better in the whole of south Cambridgeshire, Cambridge, Cambourne, Huntingdon, St Neots and Ely, along with Newmarket, Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

If you live in any of these areas and are looking to find a job and need support, Community Connections South will offer you flexible support that will help you build the skills and confidence you need to make that step into work.

Who is it for?

This project is open to you if you are aged 15 or over and are not in work.

You can be on JSA, ESA, Carer’s Allowance and Income Support, or not even claiming any benefits.

Your time on the project will be tailored specifically to meet your individual needs, whatever and however complex they may be.

How can it help you?

You will be listened to and supported to move forward like never before.

You will be actively encouraged to engage in community events and take on volunteering roles to help you develop your confidence, gain experience and feel connected to where you live, with the ultimate goal of helping you find the employment you are looking for.

What does the project include?

We will provide services to help you progress towards employment, through community learning, accredited learning, work training, becoming self-employed, setting up social enterprises and micro enterprises, coaching and counselling, and signposting to more mainstream employability programmes.
