Who we are: 
 
First Steps to Success Ipswich is a person-centred employment programme, dedicated in supporting disabled adults with Autism and/or mild to moderate Learning Disabilities with a range of wellbeing and employability skills.

We are based in Ipswich, Suffolk and our employment support service is free to unemployed disabled adults, aged 17 years and above, living local to Ipswich, Suffolk.

What we do: 

In one-to-one sessions, First Steps to Success Ipswich offers fun, supportive and flexible ways to build your confidence and overcome employment barriers.

We can:
 

  • Support you at your own pace, with a range of employability skills, via telephone sessions, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and email
  • Work with you to create a CV, cover letter and search for suitable volunteering, training and employment vacancies
  • Build confidence and personal development
  • Support you to understand how to overcome barriers to employment
  • Offer interview skills training, mock interviews and how to use the STAR technique
  • Continue to support you once you are in work or volunteering
  • Work closely with local employers and volunteer organisations, including training and apprenticeship providers

Eligibility:
 
  • Have a mild to moderate Learning Disability and/or Autism (official diagnosis is not required)
  • Aged 17 years old and above
  • Live in Ipswich, Suffolk or surrounding area
  • Currently unemployed
  • Motivated to work with us

All referrals are subject to our eligibility criteria and initial assessment.
