A Mendlesham man has become the latest runner to sign up to raise money for Papworth Trust by running next year’s London Marathon.

Simon Nicholson, who works as a real estate relationship manager at NatWest in Ipswich will tackle the iconic race to raise money for the trust’s work with disabled and older people.

He ran the London Marathon two years ago in five hours and 12 minutes and said he is hoping to do next year’s in under five hours.

He’s hoping to raise a minimum of £1,200 and his training regime is building up to four runs a week with longer distances being tackled at weekends.

Simon said: “I heard about the great work the trust was doing from my colleagues at work and when I heard they were looking for runners in the marathon I said I would be happy to run for them and help raise funds.”

When he heads to London in April 2019, Simon will be cheered on by his wife Clare, children Oliver and Amy and his parents Janet and Gary.
