Sarah Miller to step down as CEOImage of Sarah Miller

Our Chief Executive Sarah Miller has announced the news she will be leaving her role at the end of July, following her eight-year tenure.

Sarah joined the Trust in 2018 and during that period oversaw our move from the Bernard Sunley Centre in Papworth Everard, as well as steering the Trust through the pandemic and beyond.

A highly skilled and devoted Chief Executive

Brian Stewart OBE, Chair of the Board of Trustees, paid tribute:

“Sarah has been a highly skilled and devoted Chief Executive who I have enjoyed working with. Running a charity of our complexity over many years is rewarding but highly demanding and challenging. I absolutely respect that she has decided that the time is right for her to step down from her CEO role, and concentrate on family matters. She leaves us with all our best wishes, and appropriate interim and substantive arrangements will be put in place shortly.”

Sharing thanks and appreciation

Sarah said:

“It has been an honour and a privilege to lead Papworth Trust for the past eight years. Our customers have inspired me daily, and I have been so fortunate to have worked with some incredible colleagues during my tenure.
However, I now feel the need to put myself and my family first as I will be becoming a carer for my elderly mother soon and need to focus on this important new role for a period of time.
I wish everyone at Papworth Trust all the very best and will be cheering from the sidelines always, for the Trust’s continued success.”

Sarah will continue in her role until July 2026, interim and substantive arrangements will be announced in due course.
