Whippet buses and Papworth Trust unites for ‘back of the bus’ partnership

Papworth Trust is excited to share that Whippet have kindly gifted advertising space on the back of a bus running on their network across Cambridgeshire. The bus will be travelling in, and around, Cambridge helping to raise awareness of the charity's vital work across the region. The advert will be in use for the next two years.

The advertisement features Chris, a customer at the Trust’s South Cambridgeshire Day Opportunities service. His regular attendance at the service has allowed him to develop new skills, and gain confidence and independence.

On Wednesday 10 June, Whippet brought the bus to our service at Unity Campus so that Chris and our other customers could see the advert for themselves.

Chris said, “It made my day to see my picture on the back of the bus.

Ed Cameron, Managing Director at Whippet said “Papworth Trust supports thousands of people, their families and carers each year providing a whole range of facilities and services – helping provide independence and choice for disabled people. We’re thrilled to be able to help promote the Trust across the county! It was fantastic to meet Chris and some of the other customers at Unity Campus.

Amy Hall, Partnerships Fundraiser, said, “We are extremely grateful to Whippet for their kindness and generous support in helping to spread the news about the good work of Papworth Trust. Raising awareness is a crucial part of our work, and having our message displayed across the local area will help us connect with more people who may need our services, wish to volunteer, or want to support our cause. The bus is now out and about working hard! If you spot it and it’s safe to do so, please take a photo and share it on our social media, letting us know where you saw the bus — we’d love to hear about its sightings!

The initiative highlights the positive impact that local businesses and charities can achieve when working together for the benefit of the community.
