Purple Horizons' 5th Birthday Celebration: A Winter Ball
To celebrate their 5th birthday, Purple Horizons are hosting a Winter Ball on Saturday 2 November in the magnificent ballroom of Hail Weston House, generously hosted by Purple Horizon supporters, Nigel and Heather Smith. This event promises to be a unique and memorable occasion, marking an important milestone in our history. The evening's theme will be ‘Winter’ with a distinctive purple twist.
The ball will begin with a champagne reception accompanied by live music from the incredibly talented Angie Collins. Following the reception, guests will be treated to a delicious supper, with coffee provided by Herron Outside Catering
Throughout the evening, there will be a charity auction and a few special surprises, culminating in a night of dancing in this beautiful setting.
All funds raised from the Winter Ball will go to support Papworth Trust's Beat This initiative. This incredible programme provides music and technology sessions for Papworth Trust customers, allowing them to explore and express themselves through music. Whether it’s strumming guitars, drumming, or writing lyrics, customers have the opportunity to record their own songs at the Beat This studio in Peterborough. These sessions build not only musical skills but also foster a sense of teamwork, confidence, and accomplishment.
The Beat This initiative has had a profound impact, with many customers reporting improved health and happiness, eagerly anticipating each session. One customer remarked, “It changed my life and has given me a reason to live.”
A standout success story from Beat This is CM, a 19-year-old with social anxiety. Initially shy and disengaged, CM blossomed through the sessions, enthusiastically performing dance routines in front of the group and fully engaging with the musical activities. The sessions helped CM gain confidence and gave the support staff invaluable insights into her preferences and needs.

We hope the funds raised from this event will allow Beat This to continue offering life-changing opportunities to those in need. Purple Horizons look forward to celebrating with you at their Winter Ball.
