Have you ever taken part in a cycle challenge before?

I have never taken part in any cycling event before – I have walked the Moon Walk a few years ago 26 miles through London at night which was fun but walking at night does make a difference as your body clock is saying go to sleep!

What is the furthest you have cycled in one go before?

The furthest I’ve cycled is about 35miles – a few years ago – on a hire bike in the Yorkshire Dales along old railway lines – so not really the same as Ride London.

Have you been training for the event, and if so how has that been going?

I have been training for this event – combining Spin Classes, road rides – trying to get more and more miles under my belt – its quite time consuming! Using STRAVA to plot progress, the most I’ve completed was in and around Cambridge for 35 miles – quite slow going   with so many people out on some of the cycle paths but great to get to see parts of the City that I hadn’t seen before.

Why have you chosen to cycle in aid of Papworth Trust?

I’ve chosen to do the bike ride for Papworth as I thought it would be a good way to support the charity I work for and frankly to take on the challenge, support the great work of Papworth and those customers who face many challenges every day, whilst  enjoying the route in and around London without traffic – I really don’t like cycling with traffic!
