Raising money for Papworth Trust by running next year’s London Marathon is Cambridge man, Sam Williman.

April’s marathon will be keen runner Sam’s first and he’s set himself a target of 4 hours for completing the 26-mile route around the capital.

Sam, 27, a financial analyst ran the Cambridge half marathon two years ago and said the move up to the full marathon distance was “the next logical step”.

He added: “I really enjoy running and may real shoot for the stars target time for the marathon is four hours as I ran the half in 1 hour and 52 minutes.

“But I think I’d be more than happy with four hours 30 minutes for my first ever marathon.

Sam’s training regime involves three or four runs a week and gym work.

He is running 10 miles in his distance runs and will be peaking at 20 to 22 miles in the run up to April’s marathon.

Commenting on why he is supporting Papworth Trust, which supports disabled people in the East of England, Sam said: “I think it’s really great to be able to support a local charity.

“I heard about the opportunity to run for Papworth Trust through our charity team at work and it’s a real privilege to be able to do my first marathon for a charity that has done, and continues to do, so much for disabled and disadvantaged people in our region.
