A charity ball celebrating the 100th anniversary of a disability charity has raised more than £5,700 in support of its work.

The Ipswich Hotel kicked off their year-long fundraising for Papworth Trust by hosting a grand dinner and dance charity ball on Saturday 20th May.

The lavish black-tie event saw more than 120 people attend and enjoy a three-course dinner, live band, disco, raffle and auction.

Rameth Kurdi, general manager at the hotel, said: “We decided to support Papworth Trust after visiting the charity’s Ipswich Centre and speaking to staff and meeting people supported by the centre.

“It was very inspiring and it made me want to support Papworth Trust for the next year.

“I am delighted with how the charity ball went and I would like to thank everyone who supported the event.”

The hotel, which is formal members of Papworth Trust’s Centenary Club, will also be making a donation to support the charity’s services in Ipswich via a new monthly networking event Swichon.

Jo Revitt, corporate partnership fundraiser at Papworth Trust, said: “We are delighted to have the support of Rameth and everyone at the Ipswich Hotel.

“The charity ball was a wonderful occasion and has done so much to directly support the work Papworth Trust does with disabled people in the Ipswich area.”
