Management and staff at Ipswich Papworth Trust are celebrating after the service was awarded outstanding status in a recent Care Quality Commission report.
The service offers personal care for people living in their own homes and was rated good in 2015.

In the recently-published CQC report, the service was described as “exceptionally well led, providing high quality care and support to enable people to remain in their own homes”.

The open leadership style also came in for praise while the report concluded that there was extremely high morale among staff who had said they were proud to work for the service and felt valued and respected as well as being encouraged to professionally develop.

Claire Rush, Registered Manager for Papworth Trust, said: “This outstanding status is testimony to everyone’s hard work and dedication to those people we care for.

“We have an exceptional team here who care for and appreciate individuals.

“We would also like to thank those we look after for their wonderful and positive feedback during the inspection.

“It is always good to hear from them that we are doing a good job.”

The report said people using the service and their relatives were extremely complimentary and full of praise for staff, describing how individual needs were understood with dignity maintained and independence promoted.

It added that it has created highly effective partnerships with various organisations including local GPs, the local authority and community health teams.
