Papworth Trust is once again supporting Employability Day 2019

Held on Friday 28th June, the day brings together the employment support sector and employers to show what employability support means at the frontline and the impact it is having in our local area.

Employment support services are designed to move people forward into or to progress within the labour market.

It is organised by the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA) and will see Papworth Trust’s services across the East of England join forces to showcase our commitment to supporting disabled people with work, training, apprenticeships, work placements and volunteering opportunities.

At our Cambridge Centre in Hawthorn Way, our Community Connections South team will be hosting a celebration event to showcase the excellent partnership-working that is going on to support people into work opportunities.

Charities, not-for-profit organisations and community interest companies will be among those attending along with individuals who have been supported.

A visual, multi-sensory and display-based event is planned, and, in the spirit of showcasing this in line with the Jo Cox Great Get Together initiative, we are inviting members of the public and local employers to come along, see what is being done in their communities and enjoy the event with a cup of tea or coffee and other refreshments.

The event takes place between 11am and 2pm.

Alongside this, our OWL Bikes scheme will also be officially launched on Employability Day 2019.

Our Community Connections programme in Essex will be showcased with an information and awareness event at The Advice Store in Basildon.

We will be teaming up with partners and providers to highlight the work going on to enhance employment and volunteering opportunities in the area.

Good news stories will be shared, illustrating how we have made a difference, and there will be a chance to talk to Jobcentre Plus, the National Careers Service and Realise Future among many others.

The event takes place between 10am and 1pm, ending with a networking lunch.

While in Peterborough, we will be running a care recruitment fair giving information on the different job roles within the sector.

Local care homes and care agencies will be showcasing the various opportunities while care awareness sessions will also take place in the build up to Employability Day 2019.

The job fair runs between 10am and 1pm.
