During lockdown, staff members of Papworth Trust have been coming up with lots of ways to still engage with customers. They have done so via Zoom sessions, community activities and lots more.

Pre Covid-19, Project Worker Cliff Venning would lead on cooking sessions at the Saxongate centre in Huntingdon. He was keen to keep this group going during this time, so decided to create a barbeque cook book so that customers could still participate from home.

Well I started the book for the customers at Saxongate as they’re not doing cooking sessions at the moment. We were sending out recipes for them in their activity pack each week. Then one customer asked for any barbecue recipes as the summer was here. So it just built up from there. Then I ended up doing the whole book for the customers.”

The 39 page cook book is full of mouth-watering recipes from the classic burgers and sausages, to salads and sides, including lots of vegetarian options.

With summer in full swing and socially distanced garden gatherings now allowed, a barbeque cook book is perfect and it means customers can still learn and develop their cooking skills from the comfort of their own home.
