Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester officially opened Papworth Trust’s South Cambridgeshire Day Opportunities service at Unity Campus in Sawston this week.
During the visit, Her Royal Highness was welcomed by Brian Stewart OBE, Chair of Papworth Trust, and received a guided tour of our service including Boccia with former GB Paralympian Will Hipwell, whilst meeting customers and staff who are involved in the work of the charity.
Brian Stewart OBE, Chair of Papworth Trust, said:
“It was a great honour to welcome The Duchess of Gloucester to Papworth Trust as we officially launched our new Day Opportunities service at Unity Campus in Sawston. This excellent centre sets the standard for what we aspire to achieve across all our Day Opportunities services. It is, of course, just one part of the wider work we do in housing, care and employment.
We are always keen to work in partnership with other organisations and to do even more for disabled people. The need in Cambridgeshire and across our region is great, and we are determined to meet it.
We offer our sincere thanks to The Duchess for Her Royal Highness’s continued patronage. The Duchess’s longstanding interest and support mean a great deal to everyone at Papworth Trust.”
