For an employer Access to Work can help:
-Hire disabled people with the skills you need
-Retain an employee who develops a disability or long term condition
-Show that you value and will support your employees
Your employee can get support with the extra costs of working they may have. For example
-Aid and equipment in the workplace
-Adapting equipment to make it easier for them to use
-Money towards any extra travel costs if they can’t use public transport
-An interpreter

For an employee

Access to Work can provide practical and financial support if you have a disability or long term physical or mental health condition. To receive support from Access to Work you must have a disability or health condition that means you need an aid, adaptation or financial or human support to do a job.

- It can provide aid and equipment in your workplace
- Adapt equipment to make it easier for you to use
- Give money towards any extra travel costs to and from work if you can’t use available public transport, or if you need help to adapt your vehicle
- Provide an interpreter or other support at a job interview if you have difficulty communicating
- It can also offer other practical help at work, such as a job coach or a note taker or lip speaker

What is Access to Work – mental health

- Tailed work-focused mental health support for 9 months
- Support is free
- Suitable coping strategies for people to use anytime
- A support plan to keep people in, or return to work
- Ideas for workplace adjustments to help them fulfil their role
- Practical advice to support those with a mental health condition
- So far, they have supported thousands of people across Britain, with a 93 per cent success rate of people retaining their employment after six months.
- Approximately 1 in 4 people will experience Mental Health challenges each year
- Currently delivered by Remploy
