Papworth Trust kicked off a fortnight of celebrations in aid of the King’s Coronation on Wednesday 26 April.

It began with the planting of a special tree, a monarch birch, in the village of Papworth Everard in front of Papworth Hall. The Varrier-Jones Foundation joined Trustees and staff as our Chair, Brian Stewart, said a few words before officially planting it.

"We look forward to coming back in the future to see how the tree is getting on. Coronations don't come about very often. If we go back to the origins of Papworth Trust, we were founded during the the reign of King George V. Just as Papworth Trust and the Varrier-Jones Foundation continue to have long legacies, working together to support disabled people and local communities, we hope that this tree will grow to watch over all future efforts."
