Lead the way by becoming a Disability Confident Employer with our free support. Papworth Trust is committed to supporting disabled people and championing Disability Confident initiatives. As a Disability Confident Leader, we are incredibly proud to prioritise Disability Confident support in all that we do.

The Disability Confident scheme helps employers harness the skills and talents that disabled people can bring to the workplace. We’ve proudly achieved Level 3 Leader status, which not only complements the work we do but also enables us to be recognised for our ongoing support of disabled individuals. This status reflects our commitment to continually developing and improving the opportunities we offer.

This recognition extends beyond our internal efforts to the wider community. We support organisations and disabled people and are eager to help other employers achieve this status — and more — through our shared journey. The Disability Confident scheme consists of three levels, each providing tailored support to guide you through every step of your journey. You must complete each level before progressing to the next, and best of all, this support is completely free.

Reasonable Adjustments:

Lunch and Learn Sessions

  • Language and etiquette in the workplace, dispelling the myths around disability – ending the awkward
  • Hidden disabilities, the Equality Act and reasonable adjustments – what qualifies as a disability. Most disabilities are hidden.
  • Reasonable Adjustments and Access to Work – facts on the difference between the 2 and how government funding can be accessed, including for mental health
  • What it means to be Disability Confident – an explanation of the levels and why the scheme exists

"We were delighted to have Fleur Patten join us for our Knowledge Café today. Her insights on hidden disabilities were eye-opening and truly emphasised the importance of awareness and support in our workplace and communities. Together, we can make a difference by understanding and accommodating the diverse needs of everyone. Thanks again for your session today, it was really enjoyable."

"Fleur recently presented an excellent and informative webinar for us where she explained how South Cambridgeshire businesses and employees could benefit from Access to Work funding. The recording will be available on our website and will be shared through our monthly business support newsletter and social media accounts to increase the reach of this important issue. I look forward to working with Papworth Trust again in the future."

"Thank you so much to Fleur for our training session today on hidden disabilities and inclusivity in the workplace. All participants were fully engaged and the topic provoked a lot of discussion. We all definitely took away a lot as to how we can help further support people with disabilities and the support that is out there that is not always widely known about."
